Description
Humboldt State University is located in Arcata, a small
university town. Students will enjoy the typical advantages
and security of rural America and the cultural and recreational
benefits of an important university.
Lodging
The students can choose between a university residence
or apartments outside the campus. These ones are near
the university and the prices are not high. The students
can eat in the cafeteria within the campus and those living
in apartments will be able to prepare their own meals.
Academics
The education program is especially designed for those
students who are planning to apply to an American university,
and for professionals and people who visit the country
and need to improve their English. At their arrival, the
students will register in courses according to their level,
skills and knowledge. In the courses, the groups are limited
to make easier an individualized attention. It is also
possible to take an optional TOEFL preparation course
without any additional fee.
Activities
The Social Activities Coordinator is in charge of the
organization of visits to places of great beauty and interest,
like Redwood National Park, beach picnics, horse riding,
camping, kayak and a many cultural and artistic activities.
