Description
Founded on 1896, Adelphi is the oldest private educative
institute in Long Island. The 75 acres of the Adelphi
campus in Garden City, Long Island, offer an ideal atmosphere
for a university experience. It is located in a suburban
and beautiful community, to less than one hour by train
from New York City, one of the most important center of
the United States in art, industry, and communications,
offering to the students the best of both worlds: the
campus provides a safe lodging, which is ideal to learn
and at the same time have the exciting cultural and professional
opportunities of a center of world-wide importance.
Lodging
There is a special lodging area for the students of the
ELS Center of Languages, where they can share its experiences
with the other foreign and American students.
Academics
The ELS school gives intensive classes of English in the
campus of Adelphi. The program offers 12 levels of instruction,
from beginner to university preparation. The classes are
small, of not more than 13 students, which allow a personalized
education.
Activities
The Council of Student Activities coordinates many events,
including live music, movie and comedy nights, Broadway
shows and sport events. It is also possible to enjoy awards
winning plays and dance shows in the Olmsted Theater,
cheer the national level sport teams, make exercises and
indoor sports in the gymnasium, or simply to relax with
a coffee in the university cyber cafe.
