Pennsylvania State University
Description
Penn State is located in one of the most beautiful campuses
of the United States and has been offering innovative
education since 1855. It offers more than 160 areas of
study and it is classified as a high quality public research
university. The state university and the university campus
are in the center of Pennsylvania and offer comfort and
security in a traditional university town. By more than
20 years, the Intensive English Communication Program
(IECP) of Penn State has been a formal English program
for formal and highly motivated students.
Lodging
Among the alternatives offered, it is possible to lodge
in campus residences or in apartments outside the campus.
Academics
The IECP offers four levels courses, from beginner to
advanced. Within each level, there are courses in Comprehension,
Conversation, Grammar, Reading and Writing. The new students
take a test to determine their level. The students have
20 hours per week in classes of 10 to 15 students. It
has institutional TOEFL exams, administered free at the
end of each course. The qualification is accepted in Penn
State. The students can learn about the TOEFL, practice
and prepare themselves to take it, without additional
cost within the IECP classes.
Activities
Social and cultural activities, including educative visits
to places like the Niagara Falls and Washington D.C. The
u se of the facilities and participation in Penn State
activities, as libraries, interuniversity computer labs,
sports and trips sponsored by the university. In the surroundings
are beautiful wooded mountains, and the cities of New
York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. are just three
or four hours away.
