Texas Intensive English Program
 
  Description
Austin, Texas’s capital, is located in the center of the state, next to the Colorado River. Texas Intensive English Program (TIEP), founded on 1965, is widely recognized by its excellent English courses. The objective of the program is the preparation of the students to enter an institute of superior education or university in the United States, as well as the preparation of those studying the English for their professional or personal life.

Lodging
The students can choose to lodge in dormitories, apartments, cooperatives or with host families. The dormitories have a meals plan, although in the apartments and cooperatives this is the responsibility of the student. Many of these lodgings are available in the neighborhoods of the TIEP.

Academic
The TIEP offers academic preparation, business English and general communication and culture courses through the year. There are also special programs to people or groups sponsored by governments, companies and other organizations. These customized programs include the English Seminaries for Executives and the Education of the English as Second Language for English teachers and professors (TEFL). The groups are small, 8 to 15 students per class, in 20 class per week, in addition to languages and computer lab. It offers optional courses such as TOEFL and TOEIC preparation, brief courses in the autumn and spring semesters that include Business Language, Conversation Fluidity, Events of the Present time, TOEFL Grammar, Hearing Understanding for the TOEFL, Development of the Idiomatic Language and English and Vocabulary through the Cinema

Activities
TIEP offers among its activities trips to places of interest in the Center of Texas, including San Antonio, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Sea World San Antonio, Schlitterbahn Waterpark, and Enchanted Rock, as also cultural and social activities like the International Week, talent shows, movie nights and tasting of world cuisine. In Austin are many interesting events, like a Brazilian Carnival, Capitol 10.000 marathon, South by Southwest Music and Film Festival, the celebrations of May 5th and many others.
