Description
The Skagit Valley College is located in Mount Vernon,
a city with 20.000 inhabitants and a pleasant atmosphere,
surrounded by beautiful mountains and marine landscapes.
It’s also cheaper and safer than the great cities.
The region is near the recreational areas and cities like
Seattle and Vancouver in Canada, which can be visited
on weekends and holidays.
Lodging
Skagit Valley College is one of the few superior institutions
of the state of Washington Students who choose to lodge
in the university campus stay in the four rooms student’s
apartments with bathroom and a common area composed of
living room, dining room and kitchen.
Academic
Dedicated to the education since 1926, Skagit Valley College
is a public institution of higher education that offers
two years programs for the Transference from a Center
of Superior Education to the University in Technician
in Arts, Technician in General Studies and Technician
in Technical Arts. It provides two trimesters with ESL
education and academic courses for the students requiring
additional preparation in the English language to attend
the totality of the superior level courses. The ESL program
pays special attention to the student’s skills in
reading, writing, oral communication and integrated language
abilities.
Activities
The international students are welcome to participate
in anyone of the activities offered by the University
clubs. Among these are those of Computers, Peace and Diplomacy,
Radio, Sailing and Ski. Also, the International Club offers
social activities, trips and other events. The University
offers a wide variety of athletic programs, with baseball,
softball, soccer, tennis, basketball and volleyball teams
among others.
