Visa
US visas: Before traveling to the United States the student must have its passport in order; it also must have a visa granted by the US government. Among the different types of visa there are 2 great groups: immigrant’s visa and non immigrant’s visa.

Non immigrant’s visa: those who wish to study in the United States are in the non-immigrants category. This subdivides as well in two groups, type "F" visas and type "M" visas.

"F" visa: "F" visa is for those wishing to do academic studies or language learning courses. To obtain the visa, the applicant must be registered in a course or career in a school approved by the Immigration Service (INS), that will send to the applicant an I-20 form. This one has to be presented with a proof that certifies that the applicant has and support a house in his country of origin.

"M" visa: the "M" visa is for those making nonacademic studies. The requirements to obtain this visa are almost the same.

I-20 form: this has to be completed once the student obtained a vacancy in the chosen training center. Once filled, it must be presented, along with the passport, in an American embassy or official consulate. With the documentation, a proof must be attached that guarantees that the applicant will have financial aid during the study time in the United States, as well as a health certificate (the Embassy or the Consulate will provide the local regulations on that matter).

Stay extension: If the student wants to extend the stay, a training permission must be requested to the INS, or apply for another type of visa. If he has a "F" visa, after concluding the studies the student can ask for a maximum extension of a year for training in the United States. The INS requires that these applicants have been students with visa "F1" for a minimum of 9 months. The students of English as a Second Language can not apply for training, but if after this period of English classes the student has been studying in another institution, the time used in these studies can be part of the minimum requirement of 9 months. If he has a "M" visa, once concluded the studies it can be solicited a stay extension of 1 month of training by every 4 months of studies until a maximum of 6 months.
