Description
Located in the central coast of California, the Santa
Cruz county is well known among the surfers, thaks to
its more than 29 miles of beaches. Here are also 13 of
the California State parks, warehouses and a steam train
that crosses sequoias forests, in addition to enough arts
events to satisfy any creative anxiety. Here is the Santa
Cruz extension of the University of California (UC), one
of the greatest and more prestigious universities in the
world.
Lodging
The lodging options are: stay with an American family,
dorms in the residential club or rent an apartment or
room in a private house.
Academic
The English Language Programs of the UC offer to the student
the possibility to learn to speak and read English more
fluidly, to improve the writing skills in small classes
with individualized attention, 20 to 26 hours per week,
plus homework. The programs include intensive English,
exam preparation for TOEFL and TOEIC, English for business,
university preparation, conversation and American culture,
and English for legal and medicine professionals.
Activities
The university offers cultural and recreational activities
and trips to famous California places such as Disneyland,
Universal Studios, Sea World, Yosemite National Park,
Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, and Sacramento, the State Capital
of California.
