Description
Red Rocks Community College is located on the calm suburban
city of Lakewood, Colorado, only 15 minutes away from
the exciting urban center of Denver and five minutes from
the famous Rocky Mountains. The dry and mild Colorado
weather offers more than 300 sunny days per year and some
of the best snow ski of the world.
Lodging
The students can choose to live with a local family, or
to lodge in a rented apartment. The bus is always easy
to take to the university, if the student does not drive.
Academics
The standard intensive English program of 25 hours per
week includes reading, writing, grammar and oral communication
(to listen and to speak), and one hour alone with the
instructor within the classroom or in the computer language
lab. Classes are taken in the early morning and afternoons,
leaving the rest of the day free. The class average is
of 12 students.
Activities
The students of the intensive English program make two
strolls outside the campus to historical museums, galleries,
sites and recreational places of the area. Few places
in the world can compete with the outdoors recreations
of Colorado. In addition to worldwide known ski, it’s
also possible to take long walks, horse riding, practice
golf, camping, mountain climbing, rafting, mountain biking
and fishing. The students can use the campus facilities,
including the gymnasium, the tennis courts, the library
and four computer labs.
