Green River Community College
Description
Green River Community College is a superior education
institute located only 35 minutes to the south of Seattle
and short distance by highway of the international airport
of Seattle-Tacoma.
Lodging
The students are lodged, during their first month in Green
River, in a family house. After that period, they can
choose to remain in the family home or to rent an apartment
or house, alone or with roommates.
Academic
The Intensive English Program objective is to provide
the foreign students the necessary communicational skills
to reach a higher education successfully. The English
program is for students with a smaller than 500/173 qualification
in the official TOEFL examination. Once concluded the
English program, the international students fulfill the
needed requirement of English language abilities to be
admitted in the academic programs of Green River.
Activities
In order to optimize its studies in Green River, the Students
Programs Department coordinates activities in the campus
with the opportunity to explore the coastal landscape
of the Pacific Northwest through sports and activities
like long walks, ski and snow board. It also organizes
visits to museums, theaters and musical festivals, as
well as trips to popular tourist places, like Disneyland
and Whistler.
